James Chressanthis, ASC, GSC is a director and cinematographer on over 40 projects including feature films, television movies, dramatic series, documentaries and music videos. Major features include Urban Legend and additional photography on the Oscar®-winning Chicago. He has been nominated for an Emmy® twice for Four Minutes and Life With Judy Garland. His documentary feature film-directing debut No Subtitles Necessary: Laszlo & Vilmos premiered at Cannes in 2008 and is a multiple award winner screening at more than thirty-six film festivals worldwide and is a 2010 Documentary Emmy® nominee. No Subtitles was honored by the United States Department of State to tour over twenty-five countries and Chressanthis served as a Cultural Envoy in Russia and Mongolia in 2010-2011. Recent credits include the 2014 Sundance premiere documentary Cesar's Last Fast, the civil rights drama The Watsons Go To Birmingham and American Horror Story: Freak Show.
